Best Man/Bachelor Party Question

Here is a quick recap of my situation - my fiance's best man is a *bit* of a space cadet...kind of "marches to his own beat".  He has never been a best man before and I am actually worried he won't even know that he's in charge of planning the bachelor party.  Two of the groomsmen live on the east coast and don't know the BM, who lives on the other side of the country with the final groomsman.

Would it be totally out of line for me to drop a hint to him?  I was even contemplating just talking to the groomsman that lives with him and throwing out the "Have you guys thought of any bachelor party ideas?" question..just to get the ball rolling.  I really want my fiance to have a great time!

Thanks!

Re: Best Man/Bachelor Party Question

  • Unfortunately just because he is the BM does not mean he is required to throw a Bachelor party.  Bachelor/Bachelorette parties are a gift so its in poor taste to bring it up and say you need to plan this.  I would lay low on this and stay out of it.  Any of his friends can offer to do a bachelor party; its not limited to the BM or groomsman for that matter--and if a lot of them are out of town/out of state that is going to be a lot harder for them to coordinate too.

  • His guy friends will probably be asking about it before too long.  I wouldn't get involved.
