Would you sideeye a bride who puts beach towels on the registry?

    No. I wouldn't side-eye. I wouldn't purchase them, though.

FWIW, no guests purchased us the towels or linens from our registry. Pretty much everything was kitchen/glassware/serveware type items.

It may depend on your crowd.
  • Not at all. My sister even got beach towels at her shower that she didn't register for because someone put together a basket for them of beach stuff since they knew they were going to the beach for their honeymoon.

  • I wouldn't side-eye.  I'd probably buy them for you, actually; giving towels usually kind of weirds me out, but beach towels sound like so much more fun...who doesn't love beach towels?

I put some on my registry, and I got them at my shower!

  • I'm pretty uptight when it comes to registries and I wouldn't side eye beach towels. For starters, I prefer beach towels instead of bath towels after a shower. They're so soft, fluffier and bigger. Also, whether you have a pool, a sprinkler or a car that you like to hand wash, the towels can be used for the house, or a trip to the beach or lake. Beach towels are a great, diverse wedding gift. I say go for it.

  • I think it is a good idea.  I question personal grooming gifts like hairdryers.
  • I wouldn't worry about it either. I use beachtowels instead of bathtowels for the same reason as Simply Fated. Bigger, softer, snugglier! In fact, now I wish I'd registered for some!
  • I got some awesome Kate Spade towels at my shower.

  • Not strange at all.  Like some others, I wouldn't be inclined to buy them for you, but I wouldn't think it was odd.  But I'm just a person who's way more inclined to buy kitchen stuff that a bride is registered for because it excites me a lot more :)
  • Not at all! We live fairly close to the beach, though :)
  • I wouldn't side-eye it at all either. Especially since I'm of the thought that for a registry, you're supposed to be upgrading your possessions and the designer beach towels (Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, etc) are a good price but they're high quality. I wouldn't want to buy someone beach towels that were only going to last 1 season though.
