Lawrence County and Mercer County Venues?

There isn't a specific board for this that I saw, so Pittsburgh was as close as I could get. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone on this board can help me?

We're planning an outdoor moonlight wedding to go with our starry night theme. I know; I'm worried about the weather, too. What we need is a place with indoor/outdoor options. I know there's Shakespeare's in Ellwood City, but unfortunately that's way out of the budget. And then I was thinking Pearson Park in New Castle, since that's where he proposed. But that doesn't really have an indoor place. The gazebo is just about as indoors as it gets tehre. We just want something that we can run into in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks! :)

Westminster College might be able to accomodate you, although I'm not sure what their non-alumni policy is.  They have an outdoor ampitheatre next to the lake that can be turned into something pretty for a ceremony.  The whole campus is really nice, honestly.  If you need an indoor location for a reception, they rent out space in the McKelvey Center that has picture windows overlooking the lake/campus.  You'd still be able to have plenty of stars without the rain!

My FI is from Lawrence County, so I'll ask him if he has any other suggestions for you!

Oh, thank you! My uncle works at Westminster in the paint department, and I didn't even think about that! I wonder if maybe he'd be able to pull some strings and get me some sort of discount. :)

It can't hurt!  Both FI and I are alumni, and I honestly am a little sad I'm not getting married there - it's such a pretty campus!  If your uncle contacts the event planner for you, I can't imagine they wouldn't be a little more flexible for you!  What day is your wedding?

Well. We don't have a date. We had a date. But we don't have any money. So it's pretty much up in the air right now. I'm just trying to get some ideas of what I wanna do and where I wanna do it so I've got an idea how much money we have to save up.

I was googling and I just came across Buhl Mansion in Sharon. The prices are a wee bit out of what I was hoping to spend, but it's absolutely beautiful there!

Buhl is beautiful, but like you said $$ and their indoor spaces are all broken up. So you would have 20 people in this room, thirty in this room, but if you are just using indoors has a back up might not matter. Also, if you wouldn't mind venturing in Ytown, Mill Creek Park has some pretty places and I think they have a large list of caterers so you could use that to save money. Also, Betsy's Barn by McConnellls mills might be an option. I am not sure of their prices. Hope that helps some!

Shakespeare's on a friday or sunday offers discounts.  There is a bed and breakfast about a mile from Shakespeare's...Chapel Valley Estates.  They have a lovely property and offer wedding services.  Medure's is their caterer...yum !

Westmin can be pricey ($300 for alum to use the chapel--and no discount for both of us being alum), and there's no alcohol allowed on campus.  I'm having my ceremony there. In New Castle, there's the New Englander/Crane Room and New Castle Country Club.  In the Sharon/Hermitage area, there's the Shenango Valley Civic Center, The Corinthian, Normandy Banquet Center, The Tara, the Radisson, and a church Social Hall (can't think of the name--I visited it, but it wasn't for me).  If you need anymore info, PM me your email.  I can email you what I have Smile

Sorry I'm late to this one... I'll second the Corinthian and New Englander.  Also a BIG fan of the Davis Center at Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, a wonderful venue with indoor/outdoor alternatives.
