Please Proof my Invitation Wording

We are planning to order a proof of our invitation soon and would appreciate some feedback on our invitation wording. My parents are hosting but have requested that I just use their first and last names, not Mr. and Mrs. if possible. My fiance and I would also like to include his parents, who are divorced, on the invitation. I know that has some mixed feelings on this board.  Here is what I have:

Mom and Dad Lastname

request the pleasure of your company

at the marriage of their daughter

First Middle Last

to

First Middle Last

son of Mom and Dad Lastname

  

Saturday, the fourteenth of September

two thousand thirteen

at half past four in the afternoon

Street Address

City, State

Reception to Follow

The issue I have is that if either of FI's parents are remarried, their new husband/wife really can't be excluded. Putting "and" between FI's parent's names is inappropriate as indicates a relationship. Uggh. If both are still single, this MIGHT work. It's really not correct, though.

I understand this concern, just not sure how to broach the subject. Neither are remarried or dating, and his mom has kept her married name. I think they would prefer to be on the same line with the "and".  Maybe I should try to find out how his sister's invitations were worded...

But the thing is...it's not an option to do that.

You really just can't from an etiquette standpoint. It will indicate that they are married.

Did you even ask his parents if they want to be named? Invitations indicate the hosts, and FI's parents shouldn't be on the invitation as an "honor". You can use your programs for that.
