Wedding Invitations & Paper

How to invite an entire family?

On the envelope, I'm assuming I just write
The Smith Family
But I want to make sure it's only the Husband, Wife, 4 kids. How do I word that?
Do I make checkmarks on the RSVP's?
___  Adults
___  Children
Will they know it's only for them?

Re: How to invite an entire family?

  • No. Write out the names in the envelope and don't use "the Smith Family at all. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith Mary, Jacob, Matthew, Ethel oldest to youngest
  • Good Idea!
And I bet the little ones will LOVE seeing their names on the envelope!

Are there other people that live at the house that are not invited?

Regardless, we wrote The Smith Family on the outer envelope and listed all the names individually on the inner envelope.
  • It is recommended that you write out every name.  However, I wrote "Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Heldenarolovold and family" on the invitations and no one brought extra random people.
  • Yes, entire household.
