Re: Re-intro

  • Hi! What woodworking do you like doing? I mean, do you make birdhouses, furniture ...
  • I started out making stacked crosses with my roommate who introduced me to using a jigsaw and moved into word cutouts and video game related things. I'm currently working on a Tardis for a great friend of mine who loves Dr. Who! You can see some of the stuff here if you scroll around! :)
  • I think you could be me.  Aka we could be friends :)

I also read (constantly..and most of the authors you mentioned!) and woodwork...

I'm horrible at video games, and still haven't beaten the Zelda game for Wii (honestly, I followed the cheat book and then got stuck and it wouldn't let me do what I was supposed to do...lame)

I'm also amazed you're only 21.  I don't remember you being nutso at all, and that is an absolute compliment!  As I said, you could be me.

Show me picks of your woodworking!  I need ideas, haha.  I'm a scroll sawer.  I just got this book about how to make your own chess board.  It looks awesome (and has like 13 different boards to choose from): chess sets awesome book <--clicky (hopefully that works...)

  • I promise I'm not posting and running! I'll be back. I have an Arthurian Lit final to ace. ;)

    Also! I see you B&W. :)

  • B&W: Um, duh. We could be friends. Sounds like a plan. I know it's a weird muddle of authors but they are my three that I buy all of the books for! And follow their websites. And am on their e-mail list. It makes me feel all crazy pants.

Also! I love my scroll saw! I'm pretty clumsy with it, though. This (<- click it!) is the last thing I made with it! Here are some things I've made: (Click!) / (Click!) / (I'm not going to take Hobby Lobby's thunder... I didn't cute out the letters.) / (Some Zelda wall deco's I made for BF's apt.) / (And some Magic: The Gathering nerd wall deco's for BF's apt. as well!) Sorry for linking so many images. Haha. And chess boards are always so pretty! They look so hard to make. I believe in you. :)

And I really take that as a compliment. Like, really really

Peledream: Haha! Pretty much! What cracks me up is that Lancelot is continually called the most Christian knight and Guinevere the most Christian queen. :|

    Tiger: Thank you!

Audrewuh: Thanks pretty lady! Not gonna lie, I creeped the hellll out of you're engagement and wedding pictures on fb!
  • Also, I am officially done with finals. I feel like this (<- click it!) right now.
  • Yay for being done? Are you done for the semester or forever? And what are you studying (it's gotta be pretty cool to be able to take Arthurian literature)?

Done for now. Haha. I graduate next December. :)

And I'm majoring in English Literature, and minoring in Classics. That's like latin, greek and roman civilizations and stuff.

I took 5 years of Latin in junior high/high school and dabbled very briefly in ancient Greek. Which do you prefer and why? (Because I'm nosy like that.)

Definitely Latin! I was always interested in learning but was unable to when I was in HS because not enugh students signed up! Now I'm making up for it. Haha.

I'm not going to be learning Greek so much as learning about their literature and history. But mostly their literature.

I know I like you already just for those bolded things. Welcome back! Everyone needs more than just a little YA in their life. My BFF is a YA author and I love getting the inside scoop from her on what's coming out. What are you reading now?

Not too much right now! I've been bombarded with finals so my currently-reading list is empty! BF is on me to start Game of Thrones and Wheel of Time so those are on my up-and-coming list. I'm always open for suggestions.

And I like you too. ;)

Thank you! I've been meaning to read it. I have it (and the rest of the series if we're going to be honest...) sitting in my Kindle ready to be read!
  • Please do read GoT. You'll love it. What helped me was that I actually wrote down the families, and looked at a map as I was reading. Sounds silly, but I need those sort of visuals. I love love love GoT.

And yay! I'm an English major with a focus in British Literature :) Congrats on almost being done with school!

Good idea writing down the families - I dog-eared the back of the book where it explained the families and referred often.

I love brit lit! Are you in a grad or undergrad program? We can't pick an emphasis in lit. It's more of an English with an emphasis in lit. :(

Where do you go to school?

I'm most certainly still undergrad. I moved around quite a bit from 17-23, so I have been to a lot of different schools. I will be finishing my bach at University of North Texas in Dallas whenever I get moved there this fall. :) I should only have about a year left.

Argh I really need to read both of those series! I feel so intimidated by them and I don't know why. I read crazy long books that are part of a crazy long series all the time so I just need to get over my mental block I guess.

Have you ever picked up Patricia Briggs? She's one of my favs and is always so consistently awesome.

Weird. My friend just suggested that I read that yesterday. I haven't, but I will certainly check it out, especially now that I have two reccomendations for it! I just started Damned by Chuck Palahniuk, so that will keep me busy for a while :)
