Bridesmaid Dress Question

So, should I be concerned....?

My wedding is in November.  I was planning on putting in the orders for the bridesmaid dresses by next week (just waiting on a few measurements).  I checked with the bridal shop, and they said that I would get the dresses 3 1/2 months from when I order them.  So if I ordered them next week, they would get here early September.  I would then need to disperse the dresses to the bridal party, so say mid-September just to be safe.  Do you think that's cutting it close for alterations?  I'm a little worried.

Thanks!

K,

  • I think September is fine for alterations--I'm thinking it would take any seamstress less than a month to do bridesmaids dresses. I would order ASAP just to be safe

I think that's plenty of time for a bridesmaids dress.  A wedding dress, no...but bridesmaids don't typically have a ton in alterations if they order their sizing properly.
  • That is plenty of time for bridesmaid dresses.  Alterations for them (generally) are not nearly as involved as they are for wedding dresses.  Heck even for a wedding dress that is plenty of time because you don't typically start alterations until about 1.5-2 months out anyways.
