I am working on our drink signs and need some help on names for the drinks.
1. We are doing the "Something Old", "Something New", etc.
Here are the drinks:
"Something Old"- Jack & Coke
"Something New"- Vodka, Cranberry Juice, & Orange Juice
"Something Borrowed"- Screwdriver
"Something Blue"- Gatorade & Vodka
2. We also have a purple raspberry punch. Our wedding theme is based around LSU, the mascot is a tigers.
Re: Drink Names
Three vodka drinks is a bit much. Could you do Blue UV vodka and sprite versus the Gatorade? I haven't drank a vodka gatorade since college. It's not really an "adult" drink.
You don't need cutesy names for the drinks.
Switch out the Jack for a Rum...more appealing to the masses.
Same with the gatorade. I always enjoy a citrus vodka with sprite. Gatorade should be saved for the next morning when hydration is needed.
Also, I would switch out one of the vodka for maybe another fruity rum drink.
That way you will have two frutiy drinks and two simple and straight forward drinks.
Also, I am confused about what you want in regards to names. Aren't the names, something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue? I mean they really don't go with the drinks but whatever.
Or why not just give the punch a cute name and then not name the rest.
[QUOTE]I have a picture I'll upload in a minute can't from my phone. Please give me any suggestions for drinks! My cater is limited on his menu. I thought blue Gatorade would be a cheap/simple way to get the blue in without going out and buying a ton of alcohol that I've already paid for, but if you think it'll flop I'm open for suggestions! I am not a big drinker, so any recipes for drink is welcome.. My cater only offers VO, Jack, Rum, Scotch, Gin, Ameretto, and Plain Vodka. As for mix ins he has Orange juice, cranberry, Bloody Mary, Sour, Tonic, and lemons/limes. Thanks!

Okay. Let me get this straight.
#1, you're not a big drinker but are having FIVE signature drinks (most couples do two, max, if any)
#2, you're operating with a limited bar
I know it's easy to get wrapped up in all of the "cute" wedding ideas, but this one isn't really working in your favor.
Scrap the old/new/borrowed/blue concept, and just keep your LSU punch as the "signature" drink.

This.
Have one signature drink and then just offer up the rest of the liquor as is and let your guests decide how they want them mixed.
But definitely scrap the gatorade.

You could provide blueberry juice cocktail and not do the cranberry. The blueberry juice cocktail can be the "something blue." I think if you do the "Old, New, Borrowed, Blue," skip the fifth. It's awkward. Also, I'd rename them "Old" "New" "Borrowed" and "Blue." I'd do two sweet and two classic/not sweet. The sweet ones, I'd do one fruity one chocolate or vanilla or something 'dessert' - caramel - whatever. The "Old" I'd do something really classic like a basic gin and tonic, or olive martini. Something your grandpa would order - ya know? The 'new' I'd pick something really trendy like cucumber-thyme garnish gin-and-tonic, or whatever.
But, ya. You don't need all of that. One signature drink is also plenty fine.
