Venues....I need help!

If anyone out there can suggest an affordable, nice venue that allows both ceremony and reception on site that is outside the city, I would greatly appreciate it!   I am having the hardest time getting information from venues that I email requests for.  Side Note: I understand that every wedding is priced relatively different, but getting an estimate from any place is so hard!  I don't want to waste my time or their time if it isn't in my budget, but I feel like halls/hotels/restaurants/etc just don't get that.

  • How many guests do you expect first?

  • Have you checked out the list of venues on here?  It is not comprehensive list but it will get you started.  What is your budget for the wedding?

  • In general, people need to know how many guests you are expecting and your reception budget.  That helps us figure out how much you want to spend per person on food, and then we can recommend what's in your price range.
  • Our guest list is at 126 and we ate looking to keep our budget at 10000. I did look at the venues on the site but as mentioned none will give me even an estimate wo a visit to their site. Again as I said I dot want to waste my time or theirs if it isn't even in our budget.

  • I found that most places either do list it on their site, or are willing to tell you when you call.  Have you looked at any places on-line that jumped out at you?  In the PGH area, especially outside the city, that budget seems very doable.

  • $80pp is very doable in Pittsburgh.  I don't know a ton of the outside the city venues (or the style you are going for), but Lemont, the Pgh Zoo/PPG aquarium, the Aviary, Mayernik, Riverside Landing in oakmont, and I think the Edgewood club and Succop Conservancy all will fall in that range.  hopefully someone who knows outside the city venues will chime in for you.
  • I had my wedding reception at Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South.  They can also do the ceremony there.  It included EXCELLENT food, open bar with good liqour and two bottled beers, chair covers, cake from signature desserts, and centerpieces from botanical emporium.  Also the room for bride and groom is included.  Private message me for more info.  It was a wonderful experience for me.
  • How far outside the city are you looking at....I have a couple places in mind.
  • It doesn't have to be terribly outside the city, I just know the further you get away the more reasonably price it gets.  I live in Moon, but am familiar with all sides of the outside city.  What do you have in mind?

  • Well the place we are having our wedding is fantastic - but it is the other direction out 79N.  Otherwise did u look at the James Centre in West End ?  They were reasonable and byob when I had my first wedding there.  To this day people talk about how good the food was.
