I was having a ROUGH day at work and just wanted the day to end so I could go home. I patiently waited for the clock to tick down to 4:25pm so I could start cleaning up my desk and get ready to leave. At 4:30pm, I clocked out and headed out to my car. On my way home, my boyfriend called and we had a quick conversation. I picked up my son and once I got home, all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball in bed, and go to sleep. Which, wasn't going to happen.
My boyfriend was in the shower, so I started preparing the laundry to be done. While I was starting the washer for the first load, my boyfriend came into the kitchen (yes, the washer & dryer are in our kitchen) and said that he had brought our Great Dane in to be groomed. I looked over and our male dog had a red ribbon tied losely around his neck. I walked over to give him a scratch behind the ears and flat out ignored the red ribbon. My boyfriend said, well, I'm going to throw this ribbon out, as he took it off our dog. In the process I saw something sparkle. I asked, "what's that" and he said I love you....and as he showed me the ring he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
I immediately said yes as he slipped the ring on my finger.
I'm in shock currently. It hasn't hit me that we're engaged. I think once the shock wears off, I'll realize we're engaged and going to plan a wedding. My fb and cell phone have been flooded with congratulatory texts and comments.
