Bridal Stores-Wedding Dress Hunt!

I am looking for some help finding bridal stores to go to. I already went to one I loved, called Bijou Bridal in Paramus, NJ. what I really liked about that store is that they have a HUGE collection of dresses, and I was able to try on about 15 dresses. Does anyone have suggestions of a similiar type of store, with a large amount of wedding dresses in the Rockland/Westchester/NYC/Northern NJ/CT area? My budget is $2,000, so I don't feel like wasting time going to Kleinfelds or Saks. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

Re: Bridal Stores-Wedding Dress Hunt!

  • I really liked Something Special in Wyckoff. It's a lot smaller, but they have nice dresses in your price range. They take really good care of you there. I bought my dress at Bijou because it was my favorite dress, but I actually liked the people and atmosphere at SS better.
  • Thank you! I will definitely check that out. Random question, I am brand new to this site, if I don't log in until later, how would I see if anyone responded to my post?
  • The site isn't really well organized. You can "watch" a thread, but you still have to go to another page to see your watched threads. I'm on my mobile, but on your computer I believe the watch option is at the top of the post. Most of the time I just remember I posted something or do a control F to search for my name. The NJ board doesn't get a ton of traffic so chances are your post will still be on the first page.
  • Got it, I just "watched' it, thanks again!

  • I visited I Do...I Do... in Morristown yesterday and although it was a bit busy and we ran out of time, I highly recommend the salon. It's in Morristown.

If you're willing to make the trip, Castle Couture in Malboro was awesome and had a really great selection of dressing in your budget. I got my dress there and loved working with them.

  • I've been to Jaehee in Englewood twice (about 20 minutes away from Bijou, take Rt 17 to Rt 4) and I loved my experience both times. Hugeeeee selection of dresses and everyone there was so helpful.

RK Bridal on 39th Street in NYC has great prices & a HUGE selection.  It's kind of no frills & you are better off going on a weekday afternoon.
  • In Response to Bridal Stores-Wedding Dress Hunt!: Try Bridals by Roma in Paramus.

  • Bridals by Roma shut down...I would also suggest I Do I Do in Morristown, my MOH got her dress there and we had a great experiance.  I ended up getting my dress at the Demetrios Salon in Macys Willowbrook, I never even knew it was there but after Roma shut down, I had to find a place that carried my dress and they were the closest, they were great to work with!  I've also heard good things about Park Ave bridal in Cedar Grove/Verona

  • I think I replied to this already? But with the boards switching over, I know some posts got lost.

I visited Something Social as well and they were very helpful. They pulled a bunch of dresses for me and let me look in their collection as well. I did not buy my dress there, but bought it at Jaehee Bridal in Englewood. Jaehee also has a wide selection in that price range and should be able to help.

  • I had a really great experience at East West Bridals in Secaucus.  The staff was super helpful; they allowed me to pull dresses that I wanted to try and also brought back some they thought I might like.  I probably tried on at least 10 dresses during my first visit, and am going back this weekend with my mom to try on my top 3.
