P_nta Cana honeymoon review for Majestic Elegance resort

As far as I've seen, several Pgh brides are considering P_nta Cana for their honeymoon and specifically the Majestic Elegance resort. We spent 12 days there for our July honeymoon and I have written a VERY detailed review on TripAdvisor (under screen name Kosticka). Like many others, we booked this resort because the beach is truly breathtaking and the cost was unbelieveably inexpensive for a four star resort.  I tried to describe everything (good and bad) so that everyone else knows what to expect. I wish there had been more detailed reviews like mine before we went. Hope this helps someone! :))

My fiance and I stayed at the Majestic Elegance back in May 2010 as just a vacation for us, and I thought the price was AMAZING for how nice and relaxing the place was. I'd recommend it, too :)

Hehe sorry didn't mean to scare anyone...We read some really frightening reviews on this resort and still booked it. I read TripAdvisor obsessively for months before we booked and the reviews were mixed back then just as they are now. You will have an amazing honeymoon regardless where you go as long as you don't get into the "it's our honeymoon so it must be perfect" mindset. Something may go wrong (just as it may on your wedding day) but what can you do but have a laugh and keep going. Basically don't be a honeymoonzilla!

We knew we wanted to go away for about 2 weeks but since we were paying for our wedding on our own, we couldn't afford to spend $10K on a Sandals resort somewhere. We just wanted a place that has a beautiful beach, no kids running around, and under $5K. Just remember why you are there...so enjoy each other and get a fabulous tan! We did :)

@Miss Brightside-- Sounds Good-- FI and I went to AAA this weekend to look into honeymoons. I think we are still going to go to Pu*ta Cana but we might rethink this resort. Thanks for the review! It sounds like you had  a great honeymoon. You are right. Things will probably go wrong-- oh well :)
