Wedding Party

Bridesmaids

At this point I have 5 girls in my wedding party. What kind of unique gifts could I give them. If you are/were a bridesmaid, what would you like? What is a reasonable cost for bridal party gifts?

Search Craigslist's FREE ads in your area and take your pick. Those would be pretty unique.

Just kidding. What do your girls like? If one loves wine - get her a nice bottle or maybe a fun wine glass? If another loves to go to the movies you could get her a gift card to the theater.

Please do not get anything that is labeled "Bridesmaid" or anything that has the wedding date on it. They will never ever be used again and would be a huge waste of money. I searched Etsy and found someone who makes clutches. All of my girls carry them; so I picked out a different pattern/fabric for each girl and then I filled it with different things. I probably spent around $50-60 each.

  • It doesn't matter what WE would like. It matters what THEY would like.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Here's what I'm getting/got:

MOH: silver cuff that has a phrase about sisters in German engraved on the inside

Best friend/BM1: Oragami Owl Living Locket with charms inside that represent her and things we do together and a tag that says, "always"

Best friend/GM: Autographed picture of a pro football player from his favorite team

Brother/GM: Suede cowboy hat (ooh that reminds me I have to ask about this...)

I put a ton of thought into these gifts and I am REALLY excited to give them to everyone!
  • Mine were all individual to my bridespeople, but were generally a combination of a gift card to their favorite store, and then something individual that I thought they would like.  (Wacky cufflinks for my bridesman, fancy bath bombs and soaps for my MOH, a pretty pair of earrings, a Coach wristlet, etc.  Just depending on thir interests/styles.)  I spent about $75-$100 per person.

Where did you get this? I'm looking for a second gift for my MOH and that sounds right up her alley. Did you find it online?

I'm getting my BMs pearl earrings, another piece of jewelry tailored to their specific tastes, and then some sort of wine/coffee/tea thing, again tailored to their tastes. I'm spending a fair amount on the gifts, but they've been bought over a period of 2 years so I don't mind. I'm really excited to give them all their gifts too!

    That's the one.
  • What I'm doing:

Each BM will get a necklace (no wedding date or anything, just a timeless single pearl one) and then I'm getting small individual gifts for each.
One is an art major that runs a gallery - a set of nice supplies she has been eyeing
One is an avid knitter - she really wants new needles (really nice ones that she would never by for herself)
And I'm still working on the other two, but you get the idea.  Think of their hobbies or interest and go from there.  Is there something they have mentioned lately that is in your budget?

I think I'm spending about $50-$75 one each one.
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • I've been a bridesmaid a few times and will be a bridesmaid again this summer.  The only one I really used after the wedding was a Dunkin' Donuts gift card that came in a Vera Bradley change purse.  The bride got each of us a card to our favorite coffee place.

Other items I've gotten that are now collecting dust: a makeup bag in the wedding colors containing lip balm, Kleenex, and hand sanitizer; a beaded necklace that matches nothing in my closet except the bridesmaid dress; and a scented candle.
