I'm tired ;-;

I need more.

I cooked a huge dinner and cookies from scratch for 9 people last night. Took 4 hours with all the prep and cleanup. Then I went and ran 2 miles. I'm POOPED. Anyone else suffering today?

Re: I'm tired ;-;

  • Me too. I really really want a coke. But according to MFP, I'm already over for sugars today, not to mention my whole big 'no wine/soda/dessert' thing. So I'm sitting here daydreaming about lunch at 10a.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @cu97tiger - I haven't had any dessert or cokes yet (even though I made 3 dozen cookies last night!!!) but I did have quite a bit of wine ;-; So I guess I fail. That probably has something to do with how tired I am today.

    I am absolutely going to have lunch no later than 10-10:30. Lol.

  • My allergies are acting up today so I feel crummy and I have a headache as a result. On a good note, my arms are sore from the gym yesterday which makes me happy but it hurts to move them. Bengay or Icy Hot would be great right now.
  • I was up at 4 this morning to be at the doctor's at 6.  I just got to work about 30 min ago.  I would like to go home and nap for the rest of the day, since I need to run tonight.

  • @peekaboo2011 - Did you have a procedure done or something? Who the fuck is open at 6 besides Starbucks and donut places?

  • @kmbryant2413 - No procedure.  I had a GYN appt at 7, and an Ophthalmology appt at 8:15.  I don't drive in because it'd cost me about $20 to park at work, and take me hours to get from the hospital to work, so I have to be on the metro by 5:30 to make it all the way over there by 6:30, with time to find the damn rooms.

  • I'll join you in the tired camp. Yesterday I worked from about 5 am to midnight...and I was up again at 6 to start all over.  I need a break.

    @kmbryant...what did you cook last night?

    @tiger...I'm eating lunch at 11 on the dot.  Kuddos to you for giving up sugar.  I couldn't do it.

  • @minskat30 - what's for lunch?

    @peekaboo2011 - Black bean bowl with quinoa from Protein Bar after adding lots of hot sauce.  The more stressed I am, the more I eat spicy food...does anyone else do this?
  • Not I - I'm not usually a spicy food person.  But that sounds really good.

  • @minskat30 - Yes, I absolutely do. It's why I had balls-hot spicy black beans last night, haha! As silly as it sounds, me just whining about how hot the food is takes my mind off the things I'm stressed about for 5 minutes. I burn my mouth into a mental break.

    Also: I marinated thin boneless porkchops in crushed fresh garlic, cracked pepper, lemon, sea salt, and olive oil for about two hours. Then I fried them lightly after rolling them in cornmeal. I had organic macaroni and cheese and super spicy black beans (I just added a lot of paprika, hot sauce, and cayenne. ;) )

  • Officially pooped right here **Waves hand in air**

    Worked a little past 5 last night, then the hour commute home in bumper to bumper traffic because I missed my train in the AM. Then to cook dinner, serve the FI and MIL then take the baby with me to the Market, she peed in her pants...had to leave shoppincart and take her home to shower her. left her home to go back to the market. Came back home to pick up baby, drive to my moms house because my sister left her make up bag in my car Sunday night and she aparently can not live without it... decided to hop on the treadmill to de stress and ran 2.5 miles all while unknowingly my daughter and neice were in the play room painting thier nails..and carpet...Had to scrub down the carpet and clean up kids wth help of my SIL. Then cart a tried and cranky baby home and wrangle her to get to bed...searching frantically for Cinderella so she can keep busy while I shower...all the while trying not to wake up the FI since he has to be up at 3am..which was a total fail and he had to come to my resuce (thank you).

    And that was just yesterday...

    I had a 7am call time at work today, so that involved me having to be out of my house and at the freeway at 6am since I was not going to take the 5:25 train in... it's only 8:20am now..but I have a full schedule of board meetings that I should be prepping for but..at this point I'm over it and cant wait for 5:00 to hit so I can rush to Korea Town for a work Korean BBQ brainstorm (fun?)....which is totally in the opposite direction of my home...yeah, probably will not be getting home till about 8/9 tonight

    Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

  • @kmbryant2413 - I hear you.  Your dish, by the way, sounds amazingly good.  I'm craving mac'n'cheese now...haven't had it in years but the thought of mac'n'cheese plus hot sauce plus some beans = stomach growling.

    Annie's makes a killer GF mac and cheese, and the quinoa/ancient grains brand is really good too.

  • @pekaboo2011 - Totally going to try to find that and eat that tonight.  H can have our left-overs.  :)
  • I'm tired, but I have no excuse except that the Benadryl I took last night so that I could sleep through my allergies hasn't worn off yet; however, my eyes still itch, my nose is still running, and I can't stop sneezing.  Awesome.

    I also haven't had my morning coffee yet which clearly doesn't help.  I'll be handling that right now.

  • I'm tired and I slept really well last night. I took an allegra before I go to bed because the stuff makes me drowsy. Now I'm just kind of sitting at neutral at my desk. Blergh.

    @peekaboo2011 Annie's is the best!  One of my favorite new comfort/guilty pleasure foods is Annie's GF Creamy Deluxe with fresh broccoli and bacon.  I fry the bacon and cut it up into small pieces and mix it all in together.  The broccoli totally makes this a healthy meal.  ;)

    I did not want to get out of bed this morning, but I had a bunch to do early in the day.  I finally sat down with my first cup of coffee a half hour ago.  It is still really cloudy out, which just makes me want to nap.

  • Work has been so slow this afternoon! It's dragging....I'm making myself one more cup of coffee before I leave so it will hold me over for the last hour.
