Only one bridesmaid - what color dress?

My daughter is my MOH and the only one standing with me on my wedding day. My fiance will have my oldest son standing with him and our other 3 boys are participating in the ceremony also. My dress is ivory, my fiance is wearing light grey with a pink vest, the rest of the boys are in dark grey with purple vests. Our colors are purple, pink and grey. Should my daughter wear a dark grey dress and have her purple/pink flowers or should she wear purple? I feel like it might look odd with her being the only one in purple. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The boys will have on purple vests. She can wear either. Ask her what she wants if you don't care?

It's entirely up to your daughter. All colors will look good.
If I were your daughter , being very practical myself, I would choose light/medium shade of gray. It is very versatile color and "a little gray dress" is a good substitute for a "little black dress".
I'd choose a simple sheath dress. It can be made more playful with a purple sash, more fancy with huge fake purple/pink flowers at the neckline ( for the wedding) , and then for other occasions -  more elegant with a string of pearls , more daring with bright red shoes,  more glamorous with elbow length black gloves, etc.
