Help! Bridal party color scheme disaster

My wedding is June 7th of this year. Long story short, we have been planning the wedding on a relatively low budget, with the bridal party spread out across the country. Our wedding colors are varying shades of blue, ranging between a robins egg blue to about cornflower blue. We got the groomsmens shirts a while back, thinking we had the bridesmaids dress dilema handled, then had to start over on them. We finally got the bridesmaid dresses in, which are a soft cornflower blue in chiffon, but next to these dresses the mens shirts are way too saturated/have too mich of a green tint to them. I would like a lighter version of the mens shirts, or maybe just go to a baby blue, but none of the stores seem to have what I am looking for. I have checked online and the only one i found that looked like it might work is $60, which is definately not in budget. Any creative thinkers in here with a helpful suggestion?

The photo doesn't show the colors perfectly, but you get the idea....

Check out JC Penny's website. They have some dress shirts for $30 and if you buy more than one the price drops to $22-$26. Lots of blues to pick from. Are you doing ties? Maybe you could do white shirts with a blue tie? Not sure what ascetic you were going for but that might be a more cost effective option if you need to do repurchases. A lot of guys probably have a basic white shirt already.

On my computer the dress looks gray with a hint of lavender. The shirt looks jade green. So I am not sure which colors you actually wanted.
Are those standard button down shirts? Target has dress shirts in different shades of blue for $22.99
(am I allowed to add a link for an actual retail company?)

This. No one's going to know the shirts weren't supposed to be that color and what's wrong with a little mint green with your blues? Especially if you're having flowers, there will be green involved anyway. I'm just not seeing a problem and I don't know why brides get themselves all bent out of shape over a particular shade that may only be able to be found in their head. My bridesmaids wore all different shades of blue and if one maybe had a hint of green, it didn't bother me one bit.

  • That looks fine to me. It might be my screen, but that dress doesn't look blue to me at all; it looks gray.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I was thinking the same thing.

I all different shades as well, but the shirts are way off from every other shade in the wedding. Also, like I said, the picture does not show the colors very well, my mom took it with my sister's camera and there was poor lighting. Even my dad said it looked terrible. But I am taking one of the first suggestions and just switching to white shirts...

I do feel a bit better about it now....but the bridal party will probably be one of the most photographed elements of the wedding...so that really stressed me out when I saw that.

  • NattyShirts custom dress shirts designs and counting! This website has tons to choose from and they make it easy for you to design your perfect custom dress shirts.
  • Not sure if this would work for you, but what about getting them all the same white shirt & then putting them in a washing machine w/fabric dye? My niece actually did that with her bridesmaid dresses. They all got white summer dresses and then just put them in with blue dye. Since the dresses were of different fabrics they shades of blue varied from dress to dress but they all looked very nice together. If you got them all the same shirt, the fabric would be the same so the color should be the same on all of the shirts.

  • Folks, the OP's wedding was June 7th, which she states in her opening line.  I'd say she worked it out by now.
