Hello ladies,
I just got back from an amazing two weeks in Maui! I got so much help from this board and the reviews, hopefully I can help out some new brides. I planned a Maui wedding from Phoenix and getting married in Hawaii was really the best decision we could have made!! here are my reviews!
Merrimans- I worked with Danielle(the coordinator) for about a year prior to the wedding. She was AWESOME!! She really made everything so easy and stress free for me. I had a ton of questions and she always got back to me within a few days. The day of coordinator was a different girl. I don't remember her name but I was not quite impressed with her. I showed up to Merrimans with a little stress and the first thing she said to me was "ok follow me." She seemed pretty put out about the whole thing actually. She was rude to guests and I definitely did not think wedding coordinating was the right job for her. She came up to me in the middle of dinner and said " You said you guys would do speeches in between courses so we are all sitting here waiting for people to start speeches so we can put your order in". I was never given any direction from her so I wasn't really thinking about it.
The night ran really smooth and I would 100% pick Merrimans again. We got so many compliments about the food and beautiful scenery. It was breathtaking. It wasn't until after I realized how rude the day of coordinator was.
Anna Kim Photography- Our photographer was Jessica from Anna Kim Photography. I have only seen a few photos so I don't have much to review yet. I love what ive seen so far. She was with a second photographer who was awesome!!
Hi Focused Videography- I cant say enough good things about Jordan from Hi Focused. He was not one of Merrimans vendors but i asked if i could use him. I saw his video on youtube and loved it. You can tell he's a true artist. We got our highlight video a week after wedding and we love it!!! Really happy with his work. You can tell hes doing his passion.
Jessica Waite and Eboni- I picked Jessica Waite for makeup because of the great reviews i saw on her and wow they were all right. I did the airbrush makeup and it was amazing!! She is very talented and ive never felt more beautiful!! She brought Eboni with her to do my hair. Eboni was awesome. She was calm and made me feel at peace and what could have been a stressful day. Together they are a GREAT team. Really really happy with them. Expensive but i felt it was worth it.
Dellables- I worked with Trish from Dellables. She had me send her some pictures of what i liked and she called me a few times to make sure she knew exactly what i wanted. She had so many great ideas for the flowers. She put lanterns on the reception table. Overall i think she got my vision pretty perfect. They were the prettiest flowers ive ever seen
Loved working with her.
Maui Wedding Cakes- Loved the cake we chose. It was delicious!! And a beautiful cake!!
One hour martinizing- I took my dress here to have it steemed. It was the location in Lahaina. THis was the most stressful part about the whole wedding experience. My alterations lady in Phoenix suggested i pack my dress in a carry on suit case. I had her pack it and she said it would be fine after they steemed it. When i showed up to One Hour Martinizing the girl looked at me and said "Why would you pack your dress? THese wrinkles arent going to come out. You could have hung the dress in the pilots cabin." I about had an anxiety attack. My dress was very wrinkled and this was the last thing i expected to hear. She told me to have my fingers crossed and to pick it up the next day. I picked it up and it was perfect! The lady when i picked it up said it was easy to get the wrinkles out and apologized for previous girl. I was happy with there work just didnt need the worry.
Kapalua Villas- We stayed here along with guests from the weddng and everyone was very happy!! Beautiful views and our own kitchen, washer, and dryer!!
Four Seasons Wailea- We had our honeymoon here and it was like a dream! We def splurged and spoiled ourselves. We didnt need to leave the resort, it was all right there! Perfection!
Overall, i would pick all my vendors again and again. I loved my wedding and loved getting married in Maui!!
