Wedding Shoes?

I'm having a horrible time finding wedding shoes! I'm looking for a fun, fancy, colored shoe, but need a 2" or less heel (FI is only a couple of inches taller than me, plus the ceremony will be outdoors and reception in a barn with gaps in the floor planks). I also wear a 5 or 5-1/2, which doesn't help with selection. Cry

I've tried Reyer's in Sharon, the outlets, Macy's, Nordstrom's, TJ Maxx/Marshall's, and all of the usual suspects on line, but everything is either a stiletto or really matronly looking.

Am I missing any stores in Pgh? I'm willing to pay a higher price and travel wherever around town to get what I want...if I can just find it!

Thanks!
Melinda

Re: Wedding Shoes?

  • i dont know if they will have what you are looking for, but there is Little's Shoes in Squirrel Hill, Ten Toes on Walnut street has a lot of selection, there is a place called Footloose at the Galleria in the South Hills. I have browsed at all these places but never bought anything, just know that they arent big chains so they might have something different than what you have already seen.  I would have suggested Reyers because I am from Sharon! that sucks they didnt have anything, they are supposedly known for their extensive sizes. im guessing they fell in the matronly category knowing some of their selection.

i dont know how much youre willing to pay and if you are into polka dots, but these are low with a little bit thicker heel and i think are so cute

but that is definitely a very specific look.

have you considered a wedge? i saw a few possibilities on 6pm.com that might fit what you're looking for also.

and i just thought of modcloth.com, they have a lot of interesting shoes and looks like they go down to 5.5 at least.

    Good Luck!

  • Thanks for the ideas! I'll definitely try the one in the Galleria since my fiance lives in Upper St. Clair!
  • I don't know how you feel about ordering a shoe online.. but I would maybe try Anthropologie (They have a larger selection online then in the store) or bhldn.com
  • How about Etsy.com? They have alot of interesting stuff and looks like this designer will create a custom "Tiffany-esque" shoe with your specs including heel height!

  • I decided just a few days ago to go with the Etsy option. Although I'm still nervous about whether the shoes will fit right ordering them without trying them on, I found a seller who will make them the color I want in the heel height I want, and they are vintage-y looking like I wanted to go with my dress. Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions!
