Hi to everyone! I got engaged about 3 weeks ago, but I've just been lurking. I've read lots of helpful stuff on several boards. Hopefully I'm posting this the right way...
My poor ring has already been through some abuse. My finger was sized at 3 1/4 last year, but the ring was loose at time of proposal last month. Last week I took it off to tie a piece of string on it to fill the gap, and I dropped it--then I accidentally rolled over it in my heavy desk chair and kinda squashed the band (cringing just remembering it).
It was fixed and now it's back on my finger, but it was a little traumatic (I felt like I didn't deserve nice things!). It's now resized to a size 3, and it is never coming off because I can't imagine what other havoc I'd impose on it.
