Will a white dinner jacket clash with my diamond white gown?

My fiance and I are going for an Old Hollywood look and he really wants to wear a white dinner jacket with black lapels (paired with black bow tie, black suspenders, and black pants...and Chuck Taylors for fun!).  I LOVE the look but am worried it will make my diamond white gown look dirty.  I know most traditional dinner jackets are slightly off-white, but it depends where you get it.  When we went to the tux shop I held a swatch from my dress up to a white jacket and it matched pretty well, but the guy advised us it would look bad in pictures.  What we will probably end up doing is renting a black tux and buying a white dinner jacket so I can take it to my fitting and see how it looks. I think I'd rather risk wasting the $60-100 than always wonder if we could have pulled it off. What are your thoughts? Does anyone have any pictures they could share of what I'm describing?

You won't even notice the difference in photos. YOU might notice the difference in person, but it is very unlikey that anyone else would.  Diamond white is just a "softer" white.  Even ivory would probably be fine.
