Am I a mod now?

'cause I have powers: I think I just banned a vendor.

A while back I put my name in a thread that I would like to mod, but hadn't heard anything else about it. Until I got the spam notification by my Account Options head. Weird.

Also, what does the announce feature do? Below the text box in which I am typing this post, there's little bubbles to check announce "in the category". "in recent discussions and in the category", and "don't announce".

Don't announce was preselected, so I didn't change it.

ha !  And I'm the MOD of the reception board now also.  which is perfectly fine and I volunteered to do it, but I was still surprised to see it.

Yeah apparently I am now the mod for Central PA. Party time on those 10 posts a month.

I'm not 100% sure if I banned the vendor or just deleted the threads.

The Account Options head in the top right corner of my screen had a little red flag with the number 2 in it. I clicked on it, and that 2 was beside spam queue, so I clicked on that. It took me to a blue screen with the two posts that were reported as spam on it. I clicked a box by them to indicate they were actually spam, and then got an "are you sure?" type message. I said yes, and the items in my spam queue and the threads themselves disappeared.

Edit: there is also a banning option on that screen, but there's nothing to click on.

@cmgilpin and @bunni727 how did you figure out you were mod. I volunteered to take another board and I'm wondering if I got it.

I clicked on the receptions board and my name is at the top.

Basic curiosity. I saw that red flag by that head and clicked it, and it showed me a spam queue. I went to outdoor weddings, and sure enough my name was on the top.

Just go to the board you volunteered for and see if your name is there.

I think you'd make a great MOD and I haven't seen that boards MOD around in a really long time, unless I just don't see her posts.

I've got the Private Moderators board on my drop down, so I'm thinking I must be the new SB mod. I guess they're in the process of changing the names? No reported items on SB for me to test it out with.... quick, someone start some drama!

Private mod board shows on all the drop downs. It still shows Anna as the SB mod. You should be the new mod there soon, though, I assume.
