Suggestions for what to include in Invitations

What is typically acceptable vs. not acceptable to include in an invitation? By invitation, I mean the entire "package" sent to a guest. Obviously the actual invitation has date, time, place, etc. Is it required to have an inner envelope? It seems like that would be extra time and money spent on that... And an RSVP card should come with a pre-postage stamped return envelope right? If we wanted to include more information for guests about directions to ceremony and reception venues, hotels in the area, etc., should we just include a small separate insert with our wedding website on it? From what I have heard/seen, it seems to be a bit of a faux pas to include registry information with the invitation, but is it ok to include registry information on the actual wedding website? Any suggestions are appreciated :)

Inner envelopes are not required. If your wedding is formal (black or white tie) you would definitely use them. Yes, an RSVP card should have a stamped envelope with your return address on it. Yes,you can include an insert with wedding website info or hotel info if you wish. Absolutely do not include registry information in a wedding invitation. You can put that in shower invitations if you are having any, and ok on the website.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14
