I did a lot of looking around as I live in Adams County. I fell in love with Carriage House in Emittsburg MD. They even have a lovely private room for rehearsal dinner. Gettysburg: The Lodge: Very nice view.. Very pricy. The Carriage House caters there for an additional charge. The Links: cost is over $12k and is more expensive than the lodge. The Gettysburg Hotel: it's nice but since my wedding is in beginning July.... That's when the town is FLOODED with tourism since it's the anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. Gettysburg was painfully crowded this year because it was the 150th anniversary. Orrtana Old Hickory Barn: I wanted to like this place, but couldn't. They only offer three entries. I ate there twice and the chicken meat was VERY dry. They do no serve soda or alcohol on the premise. On the day I wanted to throw my wedding, they told me I couldn't have a DJ because during dinner hours, the place is open to the public. I checked out their rental cabins... No privacy for a wedding night. Only plus is that they are super cheap and if you absolutely must have a rustic theme... This is your place because you cannot change the decor.
