including niece and nephew at reception

Hi everyone!

My husband and I eloped at the courthouse a couple weeks ago... and now we are planning a reception this fall to officially celebrate with family and friends.  Everyone was so happy and excited for us, but his niece was a little upset that she didn't have the opportunity to be the flower girl.  My question is... is there a way that we can include her and her brother in the reception or make them feel special in some way?  She is 8 and he is 6.

Just for a little background on the reception: we are planning on having dinner, drinks and dancing, and while we wouldn't want to re-enact the ceremony or do vows, we will probably want to do something where we get up and talk about our relationship or tell our story or something.  We're still in the planning stages...

Thanks!

Perhaps take them shopping for new outfits to match your "wedding" colors. You could give the girl a small bouquet or pomander to carry for the evening and the boy could wear a bout.

Other than that, it would be kind of silly.
