Program fans

I am moving onto the next item on my list for our 8/3/13 date... programs. Since we're having an outdoor wedding in August, I immediately gravitated toward making our programs into fans... I envision a program in the shape of an apple or something with a tree on it since green apples and trees are part of our overall theme.  I'm trying to decide if I should make this a DIY project or just order them from a place like magnetstreet. Has anyone else started thinking programs yet? If you're doing them yourselves, have you found any good templates to use? I'm not to thrilled with what my search has given me so far.

I don't have advice but I'm planning on fan programs too because the church isn't air conditioned. I'm interested to read people's advice so I can get a move on too:)

I'm not planning on fan programs, but I am planning to DIY.  I found a lot of program templates just by googling.  I plan to buy nice card stock to print on.

I am doing program fans, but my mother in law is a graphic designer, so she is going to be doing them. I am having our engagment picture on the front with our names on it, then on the back is going to be the ceremony program and the people in our wedding. She will be printing them and I will be assembling the sticks on them with ribbon. If you want to save time I would order them, but if you want to save money, you could do them yourself. PS, I'm also an 8/3/13 bride!

Thanks! I actually spent some time last week designing our programs. Now all I have to do is print them out on cardstock and get them assembled. I figure it'll cost me about $300 less than having them printed... that's my motivation at this point. lol Almost there!
