Invitation question: Is this tacky?

I should probably ask this on etiquette, but here goes:

What's the general consensus/verdict/set of feelings on including the wedding website on the invitation? Our invites will be composed of three pieces (four, if you count the envelope): invitations, RSVP card (it's a post card, pre-stamped), and a small business card with hotel information (name of hotel, reference number for the block, date the block expires) on it. I could, of course, put the website info on that, too. 

Reasons to put it on the hotel card only:

The website info is mostly only relevant to OOT guests; it contains maps and directions. Local people know how to get to the church and the reception venue and don't need a hotel room.

Reasons to put it on the invitation:

The website doesn't contain registry information; it does contain fun stories about how we met and how we got engaged (thus, things that would be potentially interesting to our guests).

FWIW, our invitations are fairly informal.

We are doing our invites, response cards (stamped) and a small business card with the wedding website and then putting any hotel info etc on the website.

I would put it on the business card.  Leave your invitation about your invitation.  Extra information should go on an insert.

In your case I agree with PPs. If your wedding had a majority of OOT guests, like ours, I'd say include the extra info on inserts.

If the website info is included with a formal invitation, it should be on an insert, not the actual invite.

Since you already have a business card with info on it, put your website on that card, not the invitation. You could even put it at the top of the card, so it's the first thing guests see.

I kinda think you missed that boat. I would have put it on the STD, TBH. An insert would be fine but I have never seen anyone do that. I have seen usually STD or heard about the website through word of mouth.

Not everyone has STD, though, so I don't really think OP missed the boat.  STD are optional.
