Dress for 11 am wedding!

I need help figuring out what I should be looking for.  My wedding will be waterfront at 11 am in May of next year.  It is small, too, about 50 people. I don't want my dress to be too over-the-top for an early wedding.  But, I do want something beautiful and not too plain. Does anyone have any ideas of where/what to look for??

My wedding was at 11AM. I work a plain (no bling) silk taffeta trumpet dress.

Sort of like this one, but strapless.

You certainly don't have to get something plain, but being overly poofy or blinged out may look a bit out of place.

I definitely think you should shy away from ballgowns or poofy a-line dresses.

What aspects do you like in wedding dresses that you have seen and what is your budget?  By giving us a bit more information we could help find you some ideas.

Don't worry so much if it is too over the top. We had a 10:30 am wedding outdoors and my dress was very dressy but I loved it. We let our guests know that casual dress was preferred but the bridal party was dressing up.

Maybe something chiffon, light and flowy?  It really depends on what you want though.  I wouldn't worry about it being "too much". It's your wedding, you only get a chance to have an over the top gown a few times in your life.

A tea length dress may be pretty and not to over the top. Or a simple dress with simple beadwork nothing to elaborate. However if you fall in love with a dress you can wear it no matter if its a ballgown or if its a tea length dress.

I would just find something you love and rock it. I have seen brides wear full ball gowns on the beach, and it is gorgeous. I have also seen super simple dresses in a formal evening wedding... Equally as pretty. Once you start trying on, you will find one you love

I'm also having a morning wedding, and I'm wearing a formal (but not over the top) lace gown.  The Maggie Sottero Carolina.  Our wedding is pretty formal (no tuxes for the guys, and I don't care what the guests wear, but the invitations will be somewhat formal and the venue is upscale).  I don't think it is bad to have a formal gown for a morning wedding.  Royal weddings in England are in the morning and very formal.
