Escort Cards??

Hi ladies!

So this might just be part of my T-38 Day Countdown Freak Out but I need a little help.  I had decided not to do escort cards (primarily for budget reasons ... and because they seem kinda silly) and now, at the last minute, I'm panicking!  Do I need to have them?  Do they serve some important purpose that I'm missing?  We are having a large seating chart displayed on a chalkboard at the entrance so people should know where to sit.

Any calming thoughts would be great.  :-)

As long as you have a seating chart that's easy for your guests to see and be able to navigate to their seats I think you're just fine!! No need to make little cards that say the same thing on them, just a waste of money and a little redundant! No need to freak out :)

Thank you!!  It's funny how all of a sudden at the last minute you start second guessing all these decisions you made months ago!  Ha!

You're better than me, I'm not even doing a seating chart. xD Everyone can sit with perfect strangers if they want to, it's not like I invited anyone shady! LOL

But seriously, don't worry about it. I'm sure the seating chart is great!

if its a buffet i wouldnt worry about it. Plated dinners are really the only reason I would think to have them. But if you are freaking out go to office max or staples you can buy them for like 10 bucks.

Are you having a plated dinner or a buffet? Our venue requires place cards for a plated dinner because we have to put meal choice stickers on the back so the serving staff knows who gets which meal. I'd check with your caterer before ruling them out completely.

I loooove the idea of having a big board at the front for guests to find their seats. A close friend had this for her wedding and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, we need to have escort cards for every guest (not couple) because that's how our venue is determining who gets what meal, like cnf2013 said.

Thanks ladies!  We are actually having a buffet so we are going to be fine without them.  :-)
