Hmm wondering what else is going to happen even before the wedding

So a list of things that have been happening even before the wedding:

1. Found out the road from ceremony to reception will be closed due to FILMING a movie...In Cleveland just happens to fall on the wedding weekend, Ok no biggie

2. Found out the church steeple will be under construction, cosmetic detailing I guess and the construction workers are supposedly going to clean up before our wedding

3. Found out in Ohio you have to get your marriage license in the county you claim you live in...didn't know this and went to the county where our ceremony is going to be

4. Our final meeting with the minister is probably not going to happen because he called last week and said his daughter was sick and couldn't make our appointment

5. Tuesday had my mother and FMIL come to my final dress fitting, they wrote down the wrong day in the alterations book for Wednesday so my dress didn't have ANY changes done to it since March and I have to go back Saturday

6. My hair trial was postponed because my hair dresser was sick today and now it won't be until 2 days before the wedding.

Who else would like to share their drama before the wedding?! haha I'm just trying to smile and be glad this is all going to be over soon and we'll be married

My FI (who, despite currently living two hours away from me and our venue, has been absolutely wonderful with planning) called me yesterday completely frustrated because the majority of his groomsmen haven't paid for their suits. I know he has been nagging them for a while so it's getting a bit ridiculous. Luckily, he's getting the suits from a local family owned business (the owners have known FI since he was a kid) so they're working with him as much as possible, but seriously? Two weeks away, the last thing he or I need to worry about now is outfitting half the wedding party!

Plus, I received one of his groomsmen's RSVPs yesterday - He RSVPd for not one, not two, but THREE people! The invites did not indicate that guests were allowed a plus 1 and we have no idea who else he is planning on bringing. (He didn't even properly mark off the meals, he put an X by Fish and an X by Vegetarian, we don't know which one the third meal is supposed to be). This same groomsman is probably the one that has given us the most problems all year, he's hard to get in touch with and when FI does manage to get in contact with him all he wants to do is vent about his own life.

To top it all off, yesterday my dog started acting really strange - Normally she's VERY energetic (HYPER!) and she loves food and attention, but she's been kind of lethargic, I've had to coax her into eating her meals by hand-feeding her a portion of it, and sometimes she yelps when I go to pet her. I'm really worried that something might be really wrong with her, especially since we have NO funds left to really do anything for her. I'm not sure I even have the money to take her in for a check-up. God forbid she needs stuff like extra x-rays, medications, or surgery.

Sorry for the long vent, just had to let it out. We can do this!!

oh no! Hang in there girlies-- it will all be over soon.  As annoying things can be planning a wedding, you will one day look back and laugh at the mishaps.

29 days until the wedding and my BM has not bought her dress.

I offered to buy the dress for my BM but she kept telling me she would get it.

Update on my doggy: So I couldn't stand seeing her in pain so I took her in. Turns out she has a slipped disc somewhere in the neck area (kind of like a hernia in humans, I think?) so it looks like the reason she would yelp when I tried to pet her was because it hurt her to look up at me. She did need x-rays, and I did have to get her medication, and her vet doesn't do payment plans, BUT! They did have a sort of "vet credit card" option, and as long as I pay it off in 6 months I'll have 0 interest accrued. Once the wedding stuff is done I'll definitely have the funds to pay it off, no sweat. So I said go for it, thankfully got approved, and now Bailey is lying at home with me relaxing. She isn't moving too much but she isn't having nearly as many muscle spasms as she was, thank God. PHEW!

Fi's car broke this morning.  Tie Rod snapped. 

Fi also doesn't have his shirt or tie for the wedding, ya know? The wedding in 8 days...

Awe glad to hear the pup is going to get some TLC. 

Sorry to hear about blueikaos FI car. That happened to my FI's car earlier this year.

Thanks Star.  He's ok- that is what matters. I fully expected him to say he lost control of the car (I probably would have if my tire went wonky!)

Wow OP that's some pretty bad luck!

The biggest factor for me would be that I had my appendix removed in March of this year.  I was afraid I wouldn't heal in time!  Luckily I was able to get back to my workout routine 2 weeks after the surgery.

But now come the hospital bills on top of the wedding cost....I'm also very lucky to work for a hospital organization that gives really good healthcare insurance coverage even though it will still hurt my pocketbook, I'm glad I won't be going into debt because of it!

i think we all need to vent!

yesterday i had my first and hopefully last melt down before the wedding. everything finally hit me, regarding finances, family, friends, dogs, it all built up i couldn't help but break down. a friend talked with me and she was 100% right ...EVERYTHING WILL ALWAYS WORKS OUT...

so here it goes ...i had 6 guests who said they couldn't attend now say they can, so we may need to expand our reception room because they are willing to buy plane tickets to attend, but its an extra fee and if they flake i will go insane. The car we are driving to our destination wedding still isn't 100% ready, & fiancée had many months to take care of this....dad hasn't booked his hotel yet...

I feel you!
1. I was an hour late to my own shower because my grandmothers car died on the side of the road
2. During my last dress fitting my dress didn't fit
3. My father keeps inviting people to the wedding without telling me
4. Still haven't gotten any paperwork from our minister bc the office forgot to send it and we only met once bad will not be meeting again
5. Broke my ring finger in a running accident a month ago and my engagement ring/wedding ring still doesn't fit
6. Hotel messed up reservations and didn't have enough room for all my friends to stay at bachelorette party

Weddings are stressful! Lol

Guess I'll share mine...

1.  Found out my dad has leukemia in January and he has been going through chemotherapy for the last few months.  He has been very week the last few weeks and he afraid that he won't be able to make it to my wedding..
2.  Little brother just got dropped out of college out of no where, he was an Ace student back in HS...the entire family is worried about him except himself.
3.  Sister found out she got pregnant, but due to Chinese tradition, pregnant woman cannot help out the bride during the wedding day...so i got one less person to help out on the day of.
4.  Ordered enough favors for the wedding a while ago and just found out that 7 of my relatives who thought they couldn't come now tell us that they are coming from canada.  We are now short 7 favors...and I can't order it to get it here in a week and a half..

I guess the last 3 are minor but i really want my dad to attend my wedding..even if he doesn't have enough strength to walk me down I just want him to be there for me.  Oh well....

Wow, I really needed to read these... It always puts things into greater perspective when you can compare your own stresses against those of others. I am so sorry to hear of the more serious stresses/problems that some of you ladies are facing (e.g. @ Snowey, I really hope your father is well enough to be there for you on your wedding day and also that his illness will go into remission to allow his health to improve. And @Shay, I hope your pup is recovering. A sick or injured pet is so hard to handle because we can't stand to see them in pain.)

I've been stressing about getting everything done in time and paying everything off as well. I'm also on edge about having my divorced parents in close proximity and balancing my time and attention to all of my out-of-town family, who will all be arriving over the next week. I know that everything will work itself out and that soon FI and I will be married. I am also really trying to retain some excitement and let go of all this stress hanging over my head... but it's proving to be difficult considering I've still got some things to do. 

Oy, I just want to get through this wedding and come out of it married so that I can relax again and then see life get back to normal. It's so crazy how this process starts out so fun and then somehow turns into a monster that keeps you up at night!

I pray that all of our weddings go smoothly and are fun and joyous. I pray that all of our stress is lifted as we see all of our concerns worked out; dresses fit, all wedding expenses are paid in full, happy families, and we all meet back here in July as married ladies!

My FI and his five groomsman have nothing but the ties I ordered for them and the wedding is June 15th. My oldest daughter is graduating hs the same week and has prom the weekend before the wedding. I am about to have 11 people staying at my house for almost two weeks. What the hell will I feed them?? Thoight having wedding at home cheaper.... No. Not only just as expensive, but have Ten different projects going on trying to get finished, spend no time with FI and all stress. I have been for three dress fittings. Last time, finally fit. Good part? Took out four inches and made it a corset back so I lost the weight I wanted. But hey, I am sure the wedding will be beautiful and it will be a great day. As long as it doesn't rain here in the Pacific NW, ha ha. Good luck to everyone!

My only stress is trying to pay the vendors on time. Some are due the end of this week.

I've managed to keep calm the entire lanning process. I'm only getting my final fitting 5 days before the wedding and even that I'm chill about.

I'm having alterations frustration. She has good reviews and everyone I've seen come and go in her shop seems very happy. But she is SO disorganized. I had the first fitting at the end of April, and scheduled a second fitting for last Friday. I called (per her instructions) on Tuesday to make sure it would be ready. She said yes of course.....

And then it wasn't. She hadn't even started, and at first couldn't even find my dress! I just tried it on again to make sure her pins were still in the right places, and she assured me that it would be done on June 11 (my wedding is June 15), and if anything was wrong she could still rush to finish it in time. I was stressing all weekend. She did call this morning and say I could come in tomorrow for a fitting. I'm lucky my work is so flexible.

I can tell this is how she normally operates - up to the very last minute. And at this point, I am stuck because who else would do it on such a short time? But it is still SO stressful to worry that what IF something goes wrong???

Nie- we must have the same seamstress!  I was so stressed I went and bought another dress and I am the 15th too.  There is NO WAY she is going to get my fat ass in it, and she keeps saying, in her thick Russian accent- you don't worry, 5 more pounds we good. 

And tonight, my brother calls me to tell me he told one of his buds to crash my wedding.  All I could say was ummmmm, okay??????

June 22nd DIY bride here. Tried on dress yesterday, and it still fits, yay. Have the seating chart done, escort cards order, place cards ordered. Just have some last minute decor to make, pictures to print and assemble. Most of the vendors are paid.

My stress comes from the DJ and the videographer. Haven't really met with them yet... YAY.

Just found out that my venue which said it had 10 60 inch tables, actually has 10 54 inch tables, so I am short 20 seats.....so need to rent new tables, thank goodness the rental fee is next to nothing, but glad I went out now and did not wait until the day before when I was supposed to decorate....so ready for June 23rd and the beach

Remember those escort cards? The lady made them with the first spreadsheet I sent her. Not the corrected one. So the photographer's name is spelled wrong. And my best friends' last name is spelled wrong, though, let's be honest, their name name is a bear.
