I read those one on another site, and the "I want to peel your skin off" one has a backstory that puts it into context.

Apparently, the mother had a terrible sunburn at the time and her skin was peeling.  Having said that, (according to the article I read) hearing her child say that as soon as she woke up scared her considering she was in that weird irrational state of mind you are when you first wake up.  Still yet, it's pretty funny.
