Port 305 Quincy MA

Hi everyone! Just wondering if there are any others who have been to a wedding here or are having a wedding here. I'm drawn here for three reasons. Small intimate room, on the water and affordable. Money being the big one. We are financially going this alone so venue can pose a real issue. My questions:

1. I'm interested in using the gazebo right out front on the dock. It's free to use and love the back drop of boats and water. Anyone see a ceremony set up there? It's an awkward spot, so not sure how it would work. (About 110 person wedding)

2. If we choose this venue, our date will be October 19, 2013. Any experience or knowledge of weather in that area in October?

3. Activity in marina bay in October. Is it a ghost town? Or are some places in the boardwalk still open?

Thanks in advance for your response and help!

Re: Port 305 Quincy MA

  • While I havent seen a wedding there, I do live near Marina Bay and go there quite a bit. I enjoy the food at Port 305. To be honest I can't picture a wedding set up by that gazebo, especially not for 100+ people. I see what you mean about it being awkward, there's not a whole lot of room for people to sit or stand around it. But I don't know, you could get creative! I am getting married a week after you, and the weather I'm expecting will be pretty chilly, late October usually is (it snowed on Halloween recently). For that reason I'm planning an indoor ceremony. As far as activity, most of the restaurants, like Port 305, are open year round I believe. The others that are just bars open for events only after the peak season. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response! We actually decided to go against Port 305 for the resons you exactly stated regarding the Gazebo. We are targeting Mills Falls in NH and should be finalizing this weekend and book a date this October:)
