Ceremony Help

We've just booked Quicksilver Golf Club for the reception.  They have an outdoor ceremony space, but the max capacity (150 outdoor. 110 indoor if it rains) is roughly half what we plan to invite (260). If both the ceremony and reception are at the same location, I worry that many people won't skip the ceremony.

We're looking for possibly a new ceremony site with and indoor/outdoor option.  If it is not at the same place, and there is a cocktail hour inbetween, I think we won't have an issue with the numbers.

Anything that is not a catholic church has potential to work!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Ceremony Help

  • My first question would be why you booked a reception site that did not work for your capacity.  I would feel hurt and left out if your head table was inside and I was sitting outside.  I feel that all your guests should be in the same space.

With that said, maybe you can provide more information on what is important to you.  Why both?  Are you just looking for people to be able to get fresh air or you really want a tent wedding with an indoor option in case it rains?

    I think you misunderstood.
The reception is going to be held in the main ballroom at Quicksilver.  This seats up to 300 people and is fully enclosed.
At Quicksilver, they also have a ceremony space.  This space is an outdoor patio.  The patio can only hold 150.  If it were to rain, the backup space is a smaller indoor ballroom that seats 110.
All of the guests will be at the same place.
The issue was that if we decide to have the ceremony at the reception venue, they do not have enough room for all of the guests (for the ceremony portion).
I know that typically many people skip the ceremony and just go to the reception.  My concern is that if both the ceremony and reception are at the same place, that few people will skip the ceremony and we will have a larger number of ceremony. attendees and not enough space for them
  • Have you checked out the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe?  They have a beautiful outdoor site and plenty of room inside.
