What to do with all the decorations after the big day?

I would love to have any ideas for reusing / recycling wedding decor. Anyone have craft ideas?

If you have any friends with upcoming weddings or showers perhaps it can be reused (depending on colour).

I asked a venue if I could receive a discount for donating the tablecloths and some other odds and ends after the event, since they would have more use for them than I.

If there are local caterers or theaters, ask if they'd have a use for any of your items?

Im not sure yet, i think ill keep most but donate the rest to Goodwill.

We donated all the flowers/vases to a local nursing home.  Some of my family wanted the pillar candles we bought.  What little is left I will probably try to sell on craigslist or ebay.

I live near the quad cities and they have a bridal garage sale twice a year (spring and fall). Brides bring in all there old stuff and sells it to new brides. Keep all the profits. They charge $5 to get in which goes to a local charity. Its pretty sweet. That's how I bought most of my items with the idea that they will be resellable. Maybe it's something you can start up.
