Rehearsal dinner dilemma

I'm getting married on a Sunday at Springwood and they only do rehearsals on Thursdays for all ceremonies regardless the day.  We already know that the best man will probably not be able to make since he lives out of town, and maybe one other groomsman as well.  Do you think its too much to ask of the wedding party and others who are taking part in the wedding to go to the rehearsal on the Thursday but to have the actual dinner on Saturday?

If there is an alternate way to have an impromtu rehearsal prior to the dinner on Saturday, that may be the most considerate approach. However, if you have a small, locally based, and empathetic wedding party they may be willing to help you out once you explain the situation.

    Good Luck!

The point is to thank them for coming to the rehearsal, so having the rehearsal on Thursday and dinner on Saturday doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't you have the rehearsal dinner elsewhere anyways? Rarely is the rehearsal dinner held at the venue anyways. Just head somewhere else-problem solved.
