Confession

Last night a leaky pen reminded me of a scene in Ernest Goes to Jail.  I was trying to explain this to H and discovered that he has never seen any of the Ernest movies.  In my head I know that they are horrible, stupid movies.  But in my heart they are hilarious.  And now I am tempted to see if they are on Netflix and subject H to a marathon, or maybe just sneak a few youtube videos when I am home alone.

Lord, give me the strength to let Ernest remain a happy childhood memory by avoiding any viewing of the actual movies.

Re: Confession

  • I haven't really seen one either.

also, I read it as "leaky PEEN".

    NOT.THE.SAME.
  • I love Ernest movies.  They're up there with the Pauly Shore and Naked Gun stuff.  Awesomely bad.
  • I have only seen the xmas movie.  All I remember is him stopping the sleigh before it crashes and saying "air brakes!".

I love the Ernest movies and still watch them from time to time.  My favourite is Ernest Scared Stupid - my first rabbit was named after his dog, Rimshot.
And the Naked Guns are hilarious.  I miss comedies that were stupid without being racist and sexist like the "stupid" comedies of today.  I'm thinking of "Your Highness" which I should not have seen in theaters.  Ernest is better.

Ernest goest to jail may be the best Ernest movie.

I LOVE Ernest movies; we'd watch them w/ my gramps.
  • I ran some errands at lunch and overheard two women talking in a store. One of them said, "Know what I mean, Vern?" and I audibly gasped.   I haven't thought about Ernest in YEARS .   It's a sign from the universe!
