First Fitting

My daughter is getting married on September 28th.  Is it too soon to go in for her first fitting?

I think you're supposed to go a little closer to the wedding. I've heard around 6 weeks is the norm.

ETA: Though I think that timeline is for fittings only. They recommend going closer to the wedding because bodies change so much. If you're going to need a ton of complex alterations, I would probably go earlier.

  • I went for my first one January 19th and got married March 24th. I had 3 fittings.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I'm getting married the day before you daughter and my first fitting is the last week of July.
  • Is she having bridal portraits done?  If so, se may need to go a little earlier, to have the dress ready for the portraits...
  • I am getting married 9/28 and my first fitting is July 12.
  • I got married on July 16th and I think my first fitting was around Memorial Day.
