Father/Daughter Dance Dilemma

My step dad & I are not close - AT ALL... My real father is completely out of the picture... I want my FH to have a mother/son dance with his mom, but I do not want to do the father/daughter dance... Does that sound bad?? I was thinking in place of a father/daughter dance, I could have a Mother/Daughter dance, with my daughte... Any thoughts or suggestions??

Re: Father/Daughter Dance Dilemma

  • The mother/daughter dance sounds like it would be a lovely. A father/daughter dance is a tradition, not a requirement.

  • I agree, that sounds sweet! (Assuming, of course, that your daughter is on board). If you aren't close with your stepdad, I'm sure he won't be expecting it.
  • Agreed, It's a tradition not a requirement.  I'm sure having a mother daughter dance will be a lovely moment for you :)
  • I think the mother/daughter dance in your case is a great idea :)

  • I love the Mother/Daughter dance!!! Have you heard "Mama's Song" by Carrie Underwood? I'm having that song as the parents walk down the aisle at the wedding, it's perfect! :)
