Question on Inserts

Sorry if this has been asked - tried to search through the boards but didn't find exactly what I needed. It sounds like if your ceremony and reception are being held at the same location, you don't need to send a separate insert on the reception. However, how do you convey there is an reception immediately following the ceremony at the same location? Is it ok to note on the bottom "Reception Immediately to Follow Ceremony at [Venue]"? Or is there a better way to do it (like on the RSVP card)? Thanks in advance for your input!

Re: Question on Inserts

  • At the bottom of the invitation, you put "Reception immediately to follow"
This is exactly what we did.

  • So if your reception is out of town but you would like guests to go to the reception right after you dismiss them, can you still put reception to immediatel follow?

My ceremony and reception were at the same location.  I actually had a separate insert card for "locations" that gave a bit more details about certain things (like that there would be childcare available in the nursery, etc.).  It included something like "A reception with light refreshments will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall."

I only did that because I wanted to make sure people knew not to expect a full meal.  Simply including "reception to follow" on the invitation, or something along those lines, is absolutely fine!
