smh...

Ok ladies, i must confess. I find it very difficult to make simple decisions. I think its a little bit of OCD here lol. I have changed everything a million times and changed my colors a million and 1 lol. But anyway, here's my dilema...I already have my dress and had it for about 3 months now. Now I have found a dress that I have fallin in love with all over again. Its a Mori Lee style. I can't get my money back on my current dress but I can return it for a store credit. Since none of my bridal party has ordered yet, I was thinking about having them put their dress on the credit and having them pay me. But is it to late for that. I would have to put more money with it so I wouldnt be able to order it til next month. Im already a little over 4 months out. Is ot too late? What should i do? This is terrible...

  • Ray I'm not sure I got all that on first read, but my 2c:  before making the suggestion to your bridal party, call your salon and find out that it's possible to get the dress you want in your time frame - remember that you need to accommodate for fittings and alterations.  I think if you live in a major market and you're not a "special" or "custom" dress size you can do it - but it might be right under the wire.

penny number 2: having them put their dress on the credit and having them pay me.  is the opening sentence of every small claims lawsuit ever.   IF, stick with me, IF exchanging your dress depends entirely upon your bridesmaids cooperation, I'd pass.  And that's not a dig at them, could be the nicest group of bosoms in the world, what I'm saying is you're combining two urgent and non retractable things:  I need the money now + I've gotta order the dress today.   Please excuse if this is glass half emptyish but I''m a worst case scenario type, let's say you outlay the money up front and you don't recover it from one of your ladies, are you in a position to absorb a loss?

first things first, call the shop.
  • @Sultry. Ok you definitely make alot of sense. And for the girls, everyone will be ordering by next friday so I would have all their money by then. Everyone is aware of what im trying to do. But the only thing that worries me is chancing everyone REALLY being ready to order then. As you suggested, I will start by calling the shop. Thanks girl!

  • @raven&mark I have the same OCD diagnoses everybody gets so fruastrated with me but I can never make up my mind. I've changed colors 20 times and location twice haha. But I agree with @sultryzulu make sure it's doable with the bridal salon and if it's too much of a hassle then don't bother. Btw Mori Lee has some beautiful dresses!! I tried on a few but of course I couldn't make up my mind lol
  • .....And this is why I have forbidden myself from even glancing at other dresses. Online, in bridal magazines, none of that. When it comes to wedding gowns I am like a small child, I am easily distracted by new, sparkly, shiny things. lolz

I concur with the other ladies. Call the shop first to see if what you are trying to do is even an option. What is the time frame the factory needs to make your dress? With only 4 months to go, do you really want to chance it?? Also, has your other gown had any alterations? This was written into my "contract" when I ordered my gown, so I know that it might be a factor when trying to make a return. Also, you want to ask them if they are going to give  you full credit. Will they charge you some kind of restocking fee or somthing?
