Maybe this is a stupid question..

Could some one explain catering to me. When you pay for a venue, most of the time you will read that you can chose from their list of vendors, does this mean you must chose from the list and then pay a separate amount for the catering

Re: Maybe this is a stupid question..

  • It's different for every venue, but usually the catering is a separate deal from the venue (unless it is all inclusive, which doesn't sound like what you're talking about). The caterers and venue are two different entities with an arrangement set up. It is actually very helpful, as the caterers are familiar with the setup and how to work in the space.
  • You pay for the rental of the venue AND you pay for catering. At an inclusive venue where you must use the onsite caterer, you will choose a package deal which is priced per person for the food and beverage
