Getting in Shape

I've been MIA lately...

Hi Girls!

I've been nowhere to be found, lately...but I was thinking about you all today! A few weeks ago, FI and I found out that we are expecting! Surprise! So we have been dealing with that nonstop it seems. So there goes my GIS dreams for a little while, but I figure it's good that I dropped the weight I did before I gain anything back with a pregnancy. We've accepted everything as it is, and when this baby could have come at a MUCH BETTER time, it is what it is! Now my biggest stress is fitting into my wedding dress at 18 weeks pregnant! Ha! If not, I suppose I'll have to sew stretchy material down the sides. ;)

Hope everyone is doing well! I miss checking in every day! :(

  • @Libbybacon - CONGRATS! That is wonderful news! I hope you haven't been struck by morning sickness at all. And as for missing checking in...what's stopping you? I would say during a pregnancy it's even MORE important to stay on top of your health & fitness. You might not be trying to run a marathon, but you should still attempt to get a healthy amount of activity and obviously eat well. If time permits, you should absolutely continue to check in with us!

  • Thanks entropic! I've actually lost about 6 lbs since we found out because I am SO SICK! :( I will be starting back up my workout regimen as soon as I'm able to keep fluids down! :) Hopefully a my appt. this week the doc will be able to give me something to ease the nausea.

  • AHHHHHHHH - CONGRATS, Libby!!!

While I wasn't really sick during my pregnancies, I did find that chewing sour gum helped with my nausea. Sounds weird, but it (and crackers) totally got me through.

Take care of yourself, take it easy, but remember it's important to be active throughout pregnancy. While you might not be running marathons, you can do lots of walking/yoga/stretching - all with your doctor's approval, of course.

    Soooo happy for you!

  • Congratulations Libby!  One of my close friends was around 18ish weeks pregnant at her wedding.  Her dress was very fitted so her seamstress added a corset back and she was able to fit her bump in no problem.  That might be another option for you.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

  • Thanks girls! Once the initial shock wore off, we were really excited! My dress is back-less, so a corset really isn't an option, but I figure we will cross that bridge once we get there. Who knows, I may not need it altered at all since it was originally bought back in February when I was about 15 pounds heavier than I am now. I'm still trying to eat healthy, and I have literally tried EVERYTHING jennylee - no luck! I'll try to stick around and post a bit more - thanks for the support! :)

  • Gravol is safe to take. My cousin used to get shots at the hospital because her nausea was so bad.

Feel better soon. It really doesn't last forever, even if it feels like it will...

I used to deal with pregnant brides at the salon from time to time. It isn't always the bump that's the issue - don't forget you'll also be getting pregnancy boobs... Be prepared. :-o

OMG congratulations!!  I bet your gown will fit..... before I got married, I was hoping I might be pregnant and my gown was very slim.  The bridal consultant said normally you can be 4-5 months and still be OK with alterations.

I hope you feel better soon and so excited to hear more throughout your journey!
