Second Weddings

including child in introductions.

At the reception, my fiancee wants to include his 6 year old son in the introductions with us. He's going to be our ring bearer, but he definitely wants us to be introduced as the three of us, not just him and I. I need to know how to word it so that we can be introduced all together. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Re: including child in introductions.

  • Why not say something like, "Introducing the Smith family, John, Mary and their son Tommy!"
    That might work.

Just an odd thought, but this seems...  awkward to me?  I understand how important the children are in a blended situation like this, FI and I are blending 4 together.  But the marriage is between you and your FI.  I'm sure you can do this and no one will give it a second thought, but I just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

    Good luck!

  • I'd put XP in your thread title to indicate that you cross-posted this in another board here.
  • I personally love this idea! I have a 9 year old daughter I want to include too, and hadn't even thought about the announcement.
