contractors are here doing the guest bathroom remodel.

We bought one of those new dual flush toilets (I think we can claim the energy credit) so they'll be installing that sometime tomorrow. 

we're going to paint and refinish the vanity ourselves. would like to frame the mirror (or replace it) too. 

walls will likely be a pale grey/blue color. not sure on the vanity - probably a little darker, with a cherry tint. 

I saw an awesome shower curtain online, but $80 seemed really steep, so I'll need to do some shopping.

bought a new towel bar yesterday and matching TP holder:

all new fixtures are brushed nickel finish. 

looking for lighting for over the double sink. ideally 6-7 lights. we threw out the idea of rewiring and putting in 2 (3x light) fixtures as well. we'll be doing this ourselves, so trying not to get too complicated. 

some options:

loved the look of this one in the store, but the reviews aren't so great.

I think the bell-shaped lighting can end up looking a little dated.  I like the lines in this one:

Very classy and I bet the light would fall more flattering, as opposed to lights aimed straight down.


Otherwise, I like the very last one too.  It's unique, I haven't seen something like that before.  Gives off a kind of regal impression, very nice vibe.

i vote 1 or 2. the thing with uplights is that bugs die in them. i hate the last ones unless you have an art deco thing going on there.
