Rustic theme in a ballroom

I have always loved the rustic wedding style. However, due to budget reasons, we are getting married at the William Penn Inn (http://www.williampenninn.com/). The ceremony spot is outdoors but the reception will be inside in a ballroom. Can I still have a rustic theme or will it just look stupid?

I looked at the Carriage Ballroom - is that the one you're talking about? It's a beautiful room. Ballroom doesn't really equal rustic in my mind. Can you post pictures of what touches you were hoping to include? It might help me know what you personally mean by rustic. 

However, I think you could go for kind of an old vintagey feel.

Yes it is in the carriage ballroom. I was thinking mason jars, wine corks & bottles (we got engaged at a winery). Things like that.

Yay! I'm glad I didn't rain on your parade before I asked for pictures. I didn't know if rustic for you meant hay bales and wagon wheels. 

Though I do think the mason jars would be a little out of place, I think the winery-inspired touches like the ones you pinned would look just fine in the ballroom. The only picture I wasn't crazy about for a ballroom was the one with the greenery all over the table. 

Have you thought about incorporating something like lanterns in your centerpieces? I think that can look rustic-ish without going overboard. Here's some ideas.
