So I can kiss you anytime I want.
  • I can't believe how this topic that was about how you decide about +1s turned into this bloodbath of etiquette and class.

It happened, cause you shouldn't assume things about people.  You shouldn't call someone you have never met classless, and you shouldn't throw your lineage in their face, that is unless you are a thoroughbred race horse and by all means, brag as much as you want.

Have you seen any of the CC or E threads? Often times those get turned into what you might call a "bloodbath", and get completely off topic from the OP. at least this one stayed sort of on-topic...

I like ^ this response.  But to answer your question, the reason that this conversation went this way is because someone thought it was appropriate to imply that her lineage made her more high class than others of us.  The original question had nothing to do with lineage, and this same poster went out of her way to attack @Sew for posting a hypothetical about coworkers, while implying that @Sew must be classless for even suggesting that there may be instances where you aren't given a plus one and should refrain from shitting yourself over it.

  • Some people take this stuff so seriously just saying. Hint Hint. lol.  Just about every single person in my family is married, engaged, paired off into long common law relationships so no +1 problems here. I'm the baby so I'm the last out of everyone.

  • Oh shit it just dawned on me, what about same sex couples. In states that don't recognize same sex marriage, they technically can't really be engaged, so what then? George Takei and Brad wouldn't be invited to the wedding together pre 2008. That's just sad and very rude of you Cooper for not inviting them.

  • @Libby18bell good point! My gay cousins are getting a +1. Why shouldn't they? Also, all our guests who are single are getting a +1. Why would I want a single friend to be invited by them self and not know a damn person? I'd feel horrible for them.

And who are we talking about? I don't get the hint.

  • SNAP.

To be fair, I'm not giving my bestie who's gay a +1.... but that's because I'm not giving his boyfriend a +1 either, since I'm inviting them both. I want them both to be there, so I'm sending them both invites. (But I feel like it would be awkward if I gave them each a +1 since I know they're dating each other..........)

Higher class people don't associate with the gays, didn't you know that???  (And why can I never locate my sarcasm font when I need it??)
