FI and I designed my engagement ring together, because I was ridiculously picky about what I wanted. I knew, down to the very last little detail, how I wanted it to look. But then when it came to the wedding ring, I was totally stumped. I went to the jeweler today to talk about it. I've been compiling pictures for months now, and still haven't figured out anything definite that I'm really excited about, so my plan was just to give him all the pictures, and say "You're the pro, you designed the e-ring, and it's perfect, you just get down with your creative side on this one and make one for me."
But when I went in for my appointment, he happened to be with someone who had walked in, so I was perusing their displays of already-made jewelry, and then, BAM! Perfect ring, right there in the case. Absolutely exquisite details, tiny, understated diamonds that give the filigree design emphasis without becoming the focal point (I love scrolls and filigree rather than stones....). When they took it out of the case, and i put it with my e-ring it could not have been more perfect. The jeweler and I both sat there and tried to think of ways to customize it, but there was just nothing that either one of us could come up with - it was perfect already. I absolutely adore it.
And then I realized after I left that I totally forgot to take pictures. Genius!
