Seamstress SOS!

Help! The seamstress I was going to use for my lace dress just dropped out and I need some serious tailoring. Do you ladies know of anyone you'd recommend in the Pittsburgh/ east Pittsburgh area?
What a beautiful mess this is...

Re: Seamstress SOS!

  • I just had my dress altered for a wedding I am in on Saturday by Amy's Alterations. She is in McMurray though. I was very pleased with her work. If you google Amy's Alterations McMurray PA you can find her phone number and directions to her store. (I don't want to post her number here for safety reasons.)

  • Heath:  would you say she is reasonably priced?

  • I thought she was. MB Bride ordered me a bridesmaids dress that was a lower size than the size I ordered. The seamstress was going to have to take fabric from the bottom, open up the dress and add a panel on both sides, then adjust the ruching on the abdomen. For this she quoted me $110. When she opened up the dress she noticed that there was enough fabric on the sides of the dress that she wouldn't have to add the panel. Because of this she dropped the price to $90. I thought she was reasonable for having to pretty much rebuild the dress for me. Also she was very nice.
