The proposal was absolutely perfect and so cute. We were at a party surrounded by our closest friends and playing Celebrity, which is one of my favorite games. (If you've never played it: players split into two teams and write names of famous people and characters on slips of paper, then fold them all and put them into a bowl. When it's your turn, you have one minute to draw names from the bowl and get your team to guess as many names as you can by describing and acting out the person without saying anything that's written on the slip. In round 1, we cycle through all the names in the aforementioned fashion; then in round 2, we cycle through the same names again but this time, the acting player can only act and say one word; in round 3, we cycle through the same names but the acting player can only act/gesture, no speaking.) We were making our way through round two and it was DF's turn. He did a sleight of hand that I totally missed, and made it look like he was pulling a slip of paper out of the bowl that he'd really had it in his hands the whole time. Then he walked over to me, got down on one knee, said "Marry?" and pulled the ring out of his pocket. I was so surprised I just sat there in shock (ok, happy shock, but shock!) for a few seconds, so he showed me the slip of paper and read it in full to me: "Will you marry me?"
Of course, I said yes!

Then my friend went into the other room and came back with a huge bouquet of flowers and champagne for everyone. Here are some pictures friends took of us last night, pictures I took of my ring today, and of our kitten Spock "appreciating" (a.k.a. trying to eat) the flowers at home...

Hopefully I attached the pictures properly

Anyway, NEY, thanks for being there for me as I worked through the "not yet" part of all this! It's been fun. I am sure I will be on TK a lot more now, and will definitely keep posting on NEY and checking in with all of you too!
