Violinist..is this too much??

Have any of the Mrs. out there at a violinist at your ceremony or any of you ladies thinking of hiring a violinist? Lately, I have fallen in love with string quartets at weddings and I am a big fan of a violinist from my alma mater who is so talented and I am really thinking about asking him to perform at our ceremony and cocktail hour. His name is Eric Stanley and he is the bomb.com!!!  Am I doing the most by wanting a violinist or should I go for it? The mister is all for it, but I have my reservations I'm thinking will our guest think we are doing too much or should I just go for it since it is our day.

Here are a few of Eric's videos. I'm in love with this guy.

NO!!!! I searched high and low for someone like him during the process. I absolutely love love love love this type of music. Book him! lol, i think it's so different. he may need background music for some of his performances and amplification depending on your crowd size but..... YES, get him. Support our people being different!

  • Oh no girl.  He would HIRED if he were in my area.  Let me find out.  Shoot!

    Love is the ultimate superpower.
It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

  •  I know that was beautiful @CreoleBride30. I love live music. My dad played sax in his younger days lol. I thought about a saxophonist after I couldn't find a violinist in NC that played the type of music we wanted. It recommended that we look for a college student since there are a lot of universities around our venue then I stumbled upon Eric and we fell in love with him. I am waiting to hear back from him, I'm keeping my fingers crossed he is available. There is another violinist we are considering that is from my current university he's great too.
  • I am having a violist for the wedding ceremony. I say do it! Like PP said, I think it will set the tone. For us, we love live music and the violist (a family friend) will set the tone for the live jazz band during the reception :)

  • Its not too much girl! I'm having a saxophonist and I am ready to knock everyone's socks off! Its your wedding, your moment to be "extra" and have everything you could ever dream of
  • @drmass2013, girl..absolutely! I think you have the right idea about using a student at the university if you don't get this guy.  However, stay within your means...don't go overboard...with anything for the wedding.  It's just one day and life moves on (but you know that already)  Just had to put my 10 cents in :-)

If you can afford him, I say go for it...if not, use a student from your local university or city's symphony and/or performing arts school :-)
