Photo Booths

Hey I have another question :) Is it worth having a photo booth. It fits in my budget but I dont want to waste money either. This will be a destination wedding for most of my guest, and I will have about 30-35 guest. The reception will be at P.J. Clarkes and it will be a traditional reception with a dj. Im 26 and my guest are around my age and a few older guest around 50 yrs old like my dad. I know my guest will use it but I would hope they use it more than once. Hmmm Idk if I should book or not. What do you think?

Re: Photo Booths

  • We have one booked with glitterlens. We have bought their guestbook package so every photo will print double and guests will sign our scrap booked guestbook. I love that we will be able to look back on goofy pics of our guests enjoying themself at our wedding.

  • All photo booths are not created equal but a friend of mine had one back in November and it was a blast.  It came with all kinds of props and you could squeeze about six people in if you got nice and cozy so we all took some pretty hilarious pictures with it.  It uploaded them all automatically to a website so everyone that attended could download all the funny pictures rather than just their own.

We're hoping to book one!  I know a few friends who've had one at their weddings and they were very popular.  I think the ones where you can only squeeze about 6 people in are more fun as per vegasgrooms comment above.  Its often the squeezing in part that gives the best photos as everyone's laughing!  I've seen some where they aren't really a photobooth, just an area set up that prints pictures that don't really look like photobooth photo's as 10-12 people are in the shot!  Depends what you're after though :)
  • I found a great deal from Elegant Entertainment and they have great reviews. For 4 hours you get a DJ, Photo booth and 10 up lights for $1200. They have a better price because they have it all. I hope it works out. I really think a photo booth will be fun, maybe Ill b the only one it but oh well haha

I'm working with Joy Squad, which is one of the open-air booths so you don't have to squeeze into a tiny space. You can also choose the traditional long/skinny photobooth pics or 4x6 size, and the 4x6 can hold either 1 or 4 pics on it.
I liked the idea of having a backdrop, and also being able to fit as many people in without squishing ... makes for some interesting photo bombs that simply can't fit into the small-closed-booth.

Also, Leslie at Joy Squad has been INCREDIBLE to work with ... I love graphic design so she's even letting me design my own layouts to match with my invitations/programs/etc! Highly recommend.

PS I can't vouch for the company but you could use this Living Social deal:

    Can't beat that!
  • I agree that not all are created equal :) we were really happy with ours - kept people amused all night. I was a bit type A about the props an actually brought most of teh sunglasses seen in the photos lol. I didn't want there to be only the big oversized goofy ones. I'd recommend using the company we used, not the cheapest but they were great to deal with, they did a custom strip design for us and the host was really good

  • Hey VG, do you know who your friend used? Also, Toronto can you share the company you used?

I know I want a traditional photo booth Im not a big fan of the open ones. I feel that if I had an open one I would rather set up my own. Toronto your pictures are super cute!
  • Shutterbooth is the company - should have included that lol!

  • Thanks Toronto. It's one of those things that if I had extra money left in the budget I was going to add on so thanks for sharing.
